Head of India and South Asia – Mumbai

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of establishing and operating the India and South Asia business

Position Overview

As part of plans to establish an on-the-ground presence in India and as part of a wider strategy to grow our existing business in India and South Asia, we are seeking to hire a practice head for a new Blackpeak office to be based in Mumbai.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of establishing and operating the India and South Asia business, including:

  • Sourcing, hiring and mentoring a first-class project execution team
  • Servicing and growing existing India and South Asia projects
  • Focusing on extensive business development
  • Managing and growing the practice with line responsibility for practice profitability
  • Working collegiately with all other Blackpeak offices and senior management

Our clients comprise leading organizations from the financial services, investment management, technology, logistics and manufacturing industries, among others.

This position offers the suitable candidate the opportunity to shape Blackpeak’s India and South Asia business strategy with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, building and leading talented research teams addressing our clients’ strategic and critical risk intelligence needs in business and public policy spheres in the region.


Skills and Experience

  • University-level education, ideally in the humanities, politics, economics, or journalism
  • Full professional proficiency in Hindi and English, reading, writing, and speaking skills
  • 10 years plus of relevant work experience in journalism, analysis, or consulting, ideally in a role that involved business growth, management and profit and loss accountability
  • Financial literacy is a distinct advantage, while a deep knowledge of the region’s political and economic systems is essential
  • Professional services experience and capabilities of the highest standards
  • Be able to strictly enforce governance and adherence to business ethics and compliance
  • Ability and willingness to work as a part of a multinational team across Blackpeak’s offices worldwide, including extensive travel as required
